Blues from the Inside: Analysis of the Experience of Blues Musicians

The aim of this bachelor thesis is to determine, how the blues is experienced and percepted by people, who produce it. There are two kinds of research data: extensive and intensive. In the extensive part of the research a large group of musicians producing blues and blues listeners were questioned in a survey. In the following intensive phase of the research a part of respondents wrote a text on the topic: "What does the blues mean to me". Through qualitative approach, I analysed 16 texts with the goal to present the phenomenological description capturing the both variability and recurring patterns of how the examined musicians experience the blues. This phenomenological description ("blues from the inside") will be confronted with various theoretic conceptions. Central conception of this work is the framework of analytical psychology, especially unitary reality by E. Neumann and transcendence function by C. G. Jung. The integration of shadow projections in the teaching of C.G. Jung and its possible benefits for theological ethics of interpersonal relationships

In the first part, this thesis is examining the psychology of C. G. Jung, especially those parts, which are somehow connected to interpersonal relationships. That means foremostly the psychological projections and mechanisms, which are causing those projections. By those mechanisms, I mean the dynamics of consciousness - unconsciousness, the shadow and the cognitive functions. Besides those concepts and mechanisms, the thesis aims to explore the way which Jung ascribes to deal with those shadow projections - in favor of improving the interpersonal relationships. This deed lays mainly in the so-called individuation, with main focus on the shadow integration. The aim of the second part of this thesis is to reflect upon the C. G. Jung's psychology from the theological ethics point of view. The thesis is defining the criteria of goodness of the interpersonal relationship from the theological ethics standpoint. Then further uses those criteria to clarify the conditions under which could be maintained the dialogue and cooperation between theology and psychology and thus, under which conditions is theologically acceptable to utilize C. G. Jung's findings.

Narration as Principle of Individuation

This thesis in the beginning explores various approaches to relation of human mind and language. It focuses concretely on contact of reader and literal work. It deals with theory language structures and their relation to the human view of the world. It treats of discipline about right understanding of text and his impact on human mind. The work explores narrative ability of recognition, relation of reader and text in light of structuralism, ability of filling meta-texts structures. Further it analyzes the significance of myth on human mind, its influence on society and henceforth its ritual use. Next the work is about relation of myth and fairy tale, about their similarity and difference and about mythical thinking in our current society. The last chapter is key part of the work, to where leads previous text. It explores individuation process and influence of narrative on its successful completion. In this part the work examines total influence of narrative on human soul and possibility of narrative psychotherapy and analyzes narration from the view of the depth psychology. Conversion and Artistic Creation of Magdalena V.

This Bachelor thesis Conversion and Artistic Creation of Magdalena V. deals with the change of artistic expression of the Czech graphic artist Magdalena V., in a close connection to her religious conversion to the Catholic faith. The first part summarizes the theoretical knowledge of the psychology of religion. It introduces basic definitions and concepts of religion in relation to a religious conversion. In the second part, the author deals with the psychological analysis of Magdalena V.'s typical work through her life, which is supported by numerous photographs. Using the approach of rožnovská school, the author attempts to interpret this artwork on a hypothetical level, focusing on the M.V.'s life and artistic paralel before and after her conversion. The author draws on Magdalena V.'s testimonies about her life which bring light on the intention and context in her art. Related to the author's identification with Magdalena V.'s work, which later became apparent, this paper evolved further into identifying these moments and thus the potential risks inherent in author's own therapeutic work.

The Myth and Dream.

Thesis is focused on the analysis of symbolic and archetypal dimension of an ancient myth, a biblical story and a fairy tale. We pay attention to the interpretation of dreams which are explicitly mentioned in the artifacts. The first part is devoted to the definition of theoretical background of dream interpretation in Freudian and Jungian psychotherapy. The main part is devoted to the interpretation and comparison of literar artifacts and dreams included.
